About Me
Lex Lindeman has studied architecture, educational science (Netherlands) and international business (INSEAD, France). He has lived and worked in Africa and has 28 years of experience as a people development consultant in Africa.
His first African experience was when he was appointed as HR Director for Heineken Brewery, Brazzaville back in 1989. After his four-year period, he became in charge of the management development structure for Heineken in Africa as a whole. This covered 39 plants and breweries. During this period, he was also seconded for a few months to the Far East where he acted as HR consultant for local breweries (Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand) in people development matters. Lex was a co-creator of the Heineken University which became the main development institute for Heineken employees worldwide. He was amongst the first to start a virtual learning network in Africa in 1999 and gathered vast experience in managing and monitoring virtual teams.
He now coaches and develops managers, leaders and talent of a myriad of disciplines around the world. He is a mentor and a master thesis coach for MBA students of major universities in the Netherlands. Lex designs and facilitates his team with many workshops around leadership development, talent management, intercultural management and virtual team development.
Alongside this, he is also a member of various international professional bodies like the ‘Training en coaching Nederland’, Africa HR Directors Forum and Expert Advisory Network of the Frontier Strategy Group. He has worked with the International HR writers guild and published numerous articles about leadership and talent development in Africa. He is also part of the publishing magazine “Management” of the Kenya Institute of Management.
