Milton Owor is a Director at Great Lions Ltd, a niche People and Change Consultancy incorporated in Kenya.
He has held senior HR leadership roles in leading global multinationals, including British American Tobacco Plc, Royal Dutch Shell, and General Electric Company GE, over the last 25 years. He has worked in several African countries, and also in Europe and the US.
Milton begun his career in Human Resources management with British American Tobacco, Uganda. He rose to become the Country HR Manager for BAT Uganda, before going on to become Head of HR for BAT Eastern Africa. He was later assigned additional responsibilities to lead HR in Eastern and Southern Africa, covering a total of 32 countries. Before leaving BAT, he was head of HR for BAT West and Central Africa Region, based in Dakar, Senegal. He then worked with Royal Dutch Shell, as head of HR for Anglophone Africa, with overall responsibility for all the English-speaking countries in Africa. After 7 years with Shell, he joined General Electric Company, GE, where he was the HR Director for Africa Region.
Milton has deep domain expertise in HR, and has over the years led major projects involving Organizational Culture Change Management, Organisation Structuring, Skills Audit / Staffing levels, Job Analysis and Pay structuring, among others. He has worked across many countries in Africa, and in Europe, Asia, and the US. He has extensive global experience and is well tuned into the global HR best practices and processes.
He has an undergraduate degree from Makerere University, Kampala, an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK, and Certificate in Global Business leadership from INSEAD, Paris. Milton has also attended several HR Professional Training across the globe.
