Eric Sweerts (1951) has a Masters in economics and behavioural sciences focused on groups and companies (Netherlands). He worked and partly lived in Africa and has now 12 years of experience as human resources consultant and executive in Africa.
He started his career supporting businesses on various economic subjects, like marketing, innovation management, profit and loss and budgeting, planning and operations.
After this, he joined international human resources management consulting companies like HayGroup and Mercer and worked in the Netherlands, Europe and the United States of America.
He worked in HR management jobs and as Director Compensation & Benefits for PeopleSoft International.
He started his HR management business early 2004 with a focus on organizational clarity (structure, people, process, jobs and governance), compensation & benefits and performance management from management and change point of view.
His first Africa experience was when he was appointed as HR Executive to support the CHRO of Celtel in managing the HR function and facilitate the business in 10 sub-Sahara African countries as from early 2005.

In Celtel, we worked with a team of HR Executives on various topics like company university for all countries, HR development, HR management information, Compensation & Benefits, all with the objective to professionalise management and guide changes in the organization.
After 2009 he did some projects for companies in India, China and Australia. Hence he spent most of his international time in Africa.
He is an active member of the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC) and the East African Association (EAA in Nairobi) to stimulate businesses between Europe and African countries. He joins trade missions and works with public and private stakeholders.
He coaches and develops managers and leaders in his area of expertise.
He is a ‘Certified Management Consultant’ (CMC) and a member of the Dutch organization of management consultants (OOA). On behalf of the OOA and the council of management consulting companies, he was a member of a committee, advising consulting sector and the public sector concerning a shared fee structure.
Eric works both in French and in the English language.
In Africa, he has experience in the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Kinshasa, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia.
